How to read the table

The price per GB falls as the plan grows, so the question is how much data you use, not how many days you stay. A short plan of 3 days is the right choice only for a long weekend: 3 GB for 3 days costs €15.50, while 3 GB for 7 days costs €16.00, a difference of €0.50 for four more days. If you stay a week, the 7-day plans are the better value than stacking two short ones.

The most striking gap is between 7 and 15 days at 10 GB: both cost €35.50, so a ten-day stay needing 10 GB should take the 15-day plan. Likewise a 5 GB plan costs €21.50 for 7 days, €22.50 for 15 days and €23.50 for 30 days, so extra days cost only €1 each step.

Which plan for which trip

  • Long weekend (3 to 4 days), maps and messages: 1 GB for 3 days at €7.50, or 3 GB at €15.50 if you share photos.
  • One week: 5 GB for 7 days at €21.50.
  • Ten days to two weeks: 5 GB for 15 days at €22.50, or 10 GB at €35.50 if you stream or use your phone as a hotspot.
  • A month or a remote worker: 10 GB for 30 days at €36.00. Airalo's page lists data only, with no calls or text.

Why get one before you land

Aruba asks every air traveler to complete the ED card online, and the approval arrives by email; showing it to your airline before check-in is part of the process (see money and entry rules). An eSIM installed before the flight gives you data on landing, for maps, the taxi fare lookup (every licensed taxi shows a QR code to the government's fare calculator) and messages to your hotel. Roaming rates depend on your home carrier, which we did not check; compare your carrier's day pass with the table before you decide.

Practical points

  • Phone compatibility: an eSIM needs an eSIM-capable, unlocked phone. Check your phone's settings before you buy.
  • Installation: install the eSIM while you still have Wi-Fi, and switch it on when you land.
  • Data only: the plans listed carry data only; use WhatsApp, FaceTime or similar for calls.
  • Taxis: fares are fixed, $37 to Eagle Beach and $41 to Palm Beach from the airport (see airport transfers); a data connection lets you check the route.

Typical mistakes

  • Buying the 3-day plan for a week: 3 GB for 7 days costs only €0.50 more.
  • Choosing 10 GB for 7 days when a 15-day 10 GB plan costs the same.
  • Expecting calls and text: the listed plans are data-only.
