Tips
- Common taxi fares: Oranjestad to Eagle Beach $16, Oranjestad to Palm Beach $22, Noord to Palm Beach $11, Palm Beach to the cruise port $33. Look up any other route on the government's taxi fare calculator (taxi.aw); every licensed taxi shows a QR code to it, and only plates with "TX" are legal taxis.
- Bus details: lines L10A, L10B and L10C run from the Oranjestad main station, opposite the cruise terminal, to Eagle Beach, Palm Beach and Arashi. Buses take cash or a retour/day-pass ticket, accept no luggage (carry-on only) and are not wheelchair accessible. The ticket booth at the main station is open Monday to Friday 6 am to 2 pm; day passes are also sold in many hotel gift shops.
- When the day pass pays: the $15 day pass beats $2.60 rides from the sixth ride.
- Luggage on taxis: one standard bag and one carry-on per person are free; extra bags $3.
- From the airport: see transfers.

The bus
Arubus line L10 (L10A, L10B and L10C) runs from the Oranjestad main station, opposite the cruise terminal, along the hotel strip to Eagle Beach, Palm Beach and Arashi. A single trip costs $2.60, a retour card $5, and a day pass $15. The day pass pays off from the sixth ride. Buses accept carry-on bags only and are not wheelchair accessible. The ticket booth at the main station is open Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Car rental, and when it pays
A car starts at about €88 a day for an automatic Hyundai i10 or similar on Discover Cars (sample search for 9 to 17 November 2026), and a Ford Escape SUV was €170.41 on the same search. See renting a car in Aruba. A car is not needed for the two beaches, but it helps for the south and the east, and the rough tracks inside Arikok National Park suit 4x4 vehicles or walkers.
Guided tours
Guided tours are the simplest way into the interior, with the Natural Pool, the caves and the lighthouse on one trip. See the island tours and the excursions.
FAQ
Do taxis in Aruba have meters?
No: fares are fixed by zone and per taxi, regulated by the government. Agree the fare before you ride and check that it covers the whole taxi.
How much is a taxi between Palm and Eagle Beach?
$16 (Visit Aruba, 6 November 2026), plus $5 on Sundays, holidays and at night.
Do I need a car in Aruba?
Not to stay on the beaches: taxis and the L10 bus cover them. A car is useful for the interior and the south.
