The Donkey Sanctuary Aruba is open every day from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm except January 1, and there is no admission fee; donations are welcome (the sanctuary's own site, read 7 November 2026). It is a sanctuary for the island's donkeys at Bringamosa 2-Z, in the south-east of Aruba, where visitors can feed and meet them.
Highlights

Feeding from the porch
Donkeys can be fed from the enclosed porch. The sanctuary invites visitors to bring apples and carrots.
A cuddle session
A donation lets you cuddle and hug a donkey for 15 to 30 minutes. The tourism board describes a private hugging and petting session of 30 minutes or more.
The visitor center
A welcome point with information for a tour of the grounds, a covered porch with cold drinks, and a gift shop selling donkey-themed souvenirs.

Tips
- The sanctuary's own directions: from the hotels take route 4A for 14 km, past all the roundabouts, until you see the sign for French Men's Pass; turn left onto French Men's Pass, take the first left and the second right, then follow the dirt road for about 200 meters. Phone: +297 593 2933. The sanctuary lies on the south-east side of the island, so it pairs with other stops there. The full-day island jeep safari from Oranjestad is rated 4.9 from 254 reviews on GetYourGuide (read 7 November 2026); its title does not name the sanctuary, so treat it as a way to cover the island's east and south, not as a sanctuary ticket. For other family stops see Aruba excursions.
How to get there
Bringamosa 2-Z, reached by a dirt road for the last 200 meters (directions above). By car (see renting a car in Aruba) or as part of a tour.
