Mangel Halto Aruba: Snorkeling Guide and Tour Option

Updated on November 8, 2026

Mangel Halto is a secluded beach on Aruba's south coast, with a wooden sun deck, mangroves and a reef you reach from the shore, so you can snorkel here without a boat (Aruba Tourism Authority, read 7 November 2026). The water is calm and shallow near the beach, but the reef drops to 110 feet beyond it, which is why this is a place to choose according to how far out you plan to swim.

Highlights

The mangroves and the sun deck

The mangroves and the sun deck

The beach is quiet and private, with a wooden deck, public beach huts and shaded areas. It is a spot for a picnic or for watching the sunset rather than for a full resort day.

Snorkeling from the shore

The tourism board describes the snorkeling as good, supported by a network of mangroves. You can see parrot fish, yellowtail snapper, sergeant majors and blue tangs, along with sponges, anemones and deep-water gorgonians.

Shore diving

Divers can walk out to the edge of the reef. Below, where it drops to 110 feet, the tourism board lists octopi, morays and barracuda.

Kayak or paddleboard through the mangroves

Kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding run through the mangroves to open water, a different way to see the same coast.
