Arashi Beach is a white-sand beach at the northern tip of Aruba, in Noord just past Malmok on the road to the California Lighthouse, with clear, shallow, gentle water that suits swimming and snorkeling for all ages (Aruba Tourism Authority, read 7 November 2026). It is quieter and more local than the resort-front beaches and faces west, so it is a standard stop for the sunset.
Highlights

Snorkeling on the left side
The best snorkeling is on the left side of the beach as you face the sea, where the tourism board places the coral and fish. Gear can be brought or rented.
The shallow water
Soft sand and shallow water make it a good option for children. Rocky sections near the shoreline mean water shoes are recommended.
The sunset
The view is west over the Caribbean, and the tourism board calls Arashi a favorite sunset spot.
Shade and refreshments
Free shade huts (they go quickly), a beach bar, and rental chairs, lounge chairs and umbrellas.
Next door
The California Lighthouse and the California Dunes are a short drive or walk away, and El Faro Blanco and The Birdie Restaurant at Tierra del Sol are within a mile.

Tips
- Arrive early if you want a shade hut, since the tourism board notes they are taken first. All beaches in Aruba are public, and visitors are asked not to take sand, shells or coral. If you would rather not drive, the 4-hour island bus tour with snorkeling is rated 4.4 out of 5 from 66 reviews on GetYourGuide (read 7 November 2026). The EL Tours Explore Aruba tour on VisitAruba (4.5 hours, $59 per person, pick-up at 8:30 am) also lists Arashi Beach and the California Lighthouse among its stops. For other snorkel coves nearby, compare Boca Catalina and the Antilla wreck in snorkeling tours in Aruba.
