What you get
The tour is an evening on foot through downtown Oranjestad, the island's capital and cruise port, with one restaurant per cuisine. The cuisines named by the operator are Jamaican, Cuban, Dutch, Italian and Aruban, which reflects the mix of the town rather than a single local menu. The five drinks are listed as including cocktails and a local or Dutch beer. The operator states that the restaurants can change if one is unavailable, so do not book for a specific dish.
The site gives no price, group size, age rules or meeting point, so read the Viator listing for your date before you pay. The same company runs the other walks on its site: the historic downtown tour, an Aruba Bar Crawl, an Oranjestad Food Tour for Locals, and private tours for couples, families and companies at custom times.
Food tour or something else?
| If you want | Better choice |
|---|---|
| Dinner with different dishes on foot | The food tour |
| Sights and history before the evening | The 2.5-hour historic tour, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:00 am, 30+ sites and two local snacks |
| Drinks and music with transport | The Chogogo Party Bus tour, rated 4.7 from 1,602 reviews (see Aruba nightlife) |
| Dinner on the water | A dinner sail (see Aruba dinner cruise) |
| Murals and local art | The San Nicolas walk from $15 to $35 (see San Nicolas) |
All the walks are described in Aruba walking tours. The food tour only runs two evenings a week, so if your dates allow a Monday or a Thursday, book it first and fit the rest around it.
Getting to Oranjestad for 6:00 pm
Oranjestad is the capital, with Main Street shopping and a tram that links the cruise terminal with the town center. The main bus station is across from the cruise terminal, and Arubus lines L10A, L10B and L10C run along the hotel strip to Eagle Beach and Palm Beach at $2.60 per trip (arubus.com, read 6 November 2026). A taxi is $16 from Eagle Beach and $22 from Palm Beach, with $5 extra at night (Visit Aruba). Plan the way home too: the tour ends after 8:00 pm. See Oranjestad and how to get around Aruba.
Cruise passengers
The tour starts at 6:00 pm, which is late for many cruise schedules. For a day in port, see what to do at the Aruba cruise port.
Typical mistakes
- Looking for a daytime food tour: this one runs in the evening on two days.
- Booking for a particular restaurant: the operator can change the stops.
- Expecting a full dinner at each stop: five restaurants in 2.5 hours means a taste at each.
- Treating the Viator "from" price as final: it depends on the date and group.
