What "wettest" means here

The wettest month on the table has 1.3 inches of rain. On an island with 18 inches of rain a year, it is the peak. The tourism board's description of the rainy season is short, intermittent showers, and it stresses that it is rare to rain all day. In practice that means a shower can pass in the morning or afternoon and the sun is back. The windy season (May to October) is ending, so the trade winds, still almost always present, are about to lose some of their edge.

Plan with a buffer

  • Do the long day with a gap in it. A full-island safari takes about 8 hours and includes the Natural Pool, which is a swim only when the sea is calm (see Aruba island tours and Aruba's Natural Pool).
  • Put indoor options in the plan. The Oranjestad historic walk runs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:00 am and the Fusion of the World food tour on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:00 pm, both about 2.5 hours (arubawalkingtours.com, read 7 November 2026). See Aruba walking tours and Aruba rainy day activities.
  • Keep the boat for the afternoon. The Red Sail Antilla snorkel sail leaves 2:00 to 5:00 pm at $79 for adults and $63 for children aged 5 to 11 (VisitAruba, read 7 November 2026).
  • A short stop. California Lighthouse is open daily 9:00 am to 7:00 pm for $5 (see California Lighthouse).

Carnival is next

The Carnival season opens every year on November 11 at 11:11 am (see Aruba in November and Aruba Carnival).

Where to stay

Palm Beach for resorts and nightlife, Eagle Beach for a quiet stretch (see Palm Beach vs Eagle Beach). We publish no October hotel prices; compare your dates in the hotel box and read the cancellation terms.

October compared with its neighbors

September has 1.2 inches of rain and 88 °F, October 1.3 inches and 87 °F, November 1.2 inches and 85 °F (aruba.com weather page, read 7 November 2026). The gap between the hot, windy summer and the cooler, rainier end of the year starts here (see Aruba in September and the best time to visit Aruba).

Typical mistakes

  • Cancelling a whole day because of a morning shower: all-day rain is rare.
  • Planning every day outdoors with no indoor option.
  • Assuming the wettest month is the unsafe one for hurricanes: the board calls them extremely rare.
