Quadirikiri Cave Aruba: Light and Bats in Arikok

Updated on November 8, 2026

Quadirikiri Cave is the most visited of the small limestone caves on the northern shore of Arikok National Park, famous for the beams of daylight that fall through holes in its ceiling (Aruba Tourism Authority, read 7 November 2026). The cave has no entrance fee of its own: you pay the Arikok park ticket, and the park is open daily from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Highlights

The daylight

The daylight

Bursts of natural sunlight seep through limestone holes and light the cavern, which is what the cave is known for.

The passages

Tunnels vary in size, from tall and wide to low and narrow, so expect some stooping.

The bats

Friendly bats tour the cave, according to the tourism board.

The drawings

The tourism board says the walls carry a wondrous selection of prehistoric drawings; the best-known drawings in the park are in Fontein Cave.

The surroundings

Natural pools and beaches where nesting turtles come ashore, and rare cat-eyed snakes and Aruban whiptail lizards live in the park.

Practical info

Tips

  • Quadirikiri and Fontein are the two caves visitors usually pair, and the tourism board names park rangers as the people to ask about both. The tourism board also warns that the park is hard to get around, especially for nature-minded guests, so decide before you leave how you will move around: a guided jeep tour avoids the choice of tracks. The Arikok National Park jeep safari is rated 4.9 out of 5 from 262 reviews on GetYourGuide (read 7 November 2026); its title names the park, not the caves, so read its itinerary on the listing. For the rest of the park, read Arikok National Park, and for the other big stop on a jeep day, Aruba's Natural Pool.

How to get there

The cave lies on the northern shore of Arikok National Park. Buy the day pass at the visitor center at San Fuego 71 in Santa Cruz; the pass is US$22 per non-resident adult (Aruba Conservation Foundation). Ordinary rental cars are not suited to the park tracks, so a 4x4 or a tour is the practical choice (see getting around Aruba).

Opening hours

Best: Open daily 8 am to 4 pm
Arikok National Park, daily 8:00 am to 4:00 pm; no separate fee for the cave, only the park ticket (visitaruba.com and aruba.com, read 7 November 2026).
