Palm Beach Aruba: Water Sports, Hotels and Dining

Updated on November 7, 2026

Palm Beach is Aruba's resort strip: about two miles of white sand lined with high-rise hotels, calm water, water-sports operators, restaurants, casinos and two large shopping malls (Aruba Tourism Authority, read 7 November 2026). It is the place to stay if you want everything within walking distance, and the departure point for most of the island's boat trips; for a wider, quieter beach with low-rise hotels, compare Eagle Beach.

Highlights

The calm water

The calm water

The tourism board describes Palm Beach as a comfortable haven for swimmers and snorkelers, thanks to its calm water. Sunset walks along the sand are the standard evening plan.

The resort row

The hotels on this beach include the Holiday Inn Resort (590 rooms), the Hyatt Regency Aruba, the RIU Palace, The Ritz-Carlton and, close by, the Hilton and Barceló. Compare areas and prices in where to stay in Aruba.

Boat trips from the piers

The Red Sail pier sits between the Hyatt Regency and Barceló, and De Palm Pier between the RIU Palace and the Hilton. The tourism board says over a dozen catamarans and sailboats depart from Palm Beach, and parasailing boats also launch from here. Details in catamaran cruises and snorkeling tours.

Eating and drinking

Listed on the tourism board's page: Sultan Restaurant & Cafe, Sunset Grille, Willem's Dutch Pancakes, the Divi Bar & Lounge at the Ritz-Carlton, and Bugaloe Grill and Bar at De Palm Pier, plus candle-lit barefoot dinners on the sand.

Nightlife

Palm Beach is the main nightlife hub, with casinos, beach bars and clubs; see Aruba nightlife.

Practical info

Tips

  • Palm Beach is the base for the Antilla shipwreck, which lies off nearby Malmok, and for most half-day sails: the Red Sail Antilla snorkel sail leaves its Palm Beach pier and costs $79 for adults and $63 for children aged 5 to 11 (3 hours, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday 2:00 to 5:00 pm, read 7 November 2026). Water-sports companies, including jet ski rentals, operate on both Palm Beach and Eagle Beach (see jet ski tours and rentals). If the beach is too busy, the quieter northern coves such as Boca Catalina and Arashi Beach are a short drive away; the tourism board puts Boca Catalina about five minutes from the Palm Beach resorts.

How to get there

Palm Beach is on the north-west coast, where the tourism board places the high-rise hotels; for the airport run see airport transfer in Aruba, and for buses, taxis and rental cars see getting around Aruba.

Opening hours

Best: All year
